Well, You ARE a Nurse!

I asked Jaden this morning to put one of his transformers away in his room. So just like any 5 year old boy (or just mine) would do, he threw it in his room as hard and as far as he could.

I said, "Jaden, don't throw your toys in your room, your transformer is going to break into a bunch of pieces."

He replied, "Well, you're a nurse mom, you can fix him!" So matter of factly.

Funny...

Prayer Request

I received a random call today from Allina asking if I would have time for a phone interview on Friday at 11 a.m. for a RN position I applied for at Cambridge Medical Center.

Please pray for me that the interview goes well and I get called back in for a formal interview with nursing administration. I would love to work at CMC because it is so close and they pay a little bit more than Kanabec Hospital. I do really like it at Kanabec though too.

I am just trusting God in what ever path he leads me on. So please pray for God's will to be done in my career path. Thanks everyone.

Can you hear me?

Well some of you may know that our little Eli refuses to talk or even say a single word for that matter. So we have started seeing a few different people hoping to just eliminate things that could prevent him from speaking.

Today he had a hearing screen in a sound proof booth. The results showed that he hears just fine (I could have told them that). He had a little difficulty with some of the lower frequency sounds, but the Audiologist said that he hears all he needs to hear in order to speak. So check hearing off the list of potential problems. She does want him to come back in 6 months to recheck the lower frequency sounds, but she really thinks he heard them, he was just getting antsy and didn't want to sit any more and listen. So, I feel good knowing he can hear just fine.

Next on the list is seeing the ENT. Elijah was born tongue tied and the doctor didn't feel the need to have it fixed at birth, but it could be preventing him from saying words or even sounds for that matter. So hopefully the ENT will decide if it needs to fixed or not, or if it is even a problem at all.

In June we are having a home visit from a few people from the school district. A speech therapist, public health nurse, social worker, and some one else (i forgot who). They are going to evaluate Eli and talk with Ken and I about Eli's development so far. Hopefully they will have some answers or at least some tools for us to get Eli to talk.

I am praying that everything works out fine, I am sure it will. Keep Elijah in your prayers through this whole process.

So here is my list of potential reasons Eli will not talk:
Hearing * (we've established that this is just fine)
Tongue
Developmental delay
Stubburness (from his dad?)
No need to talk (brother does it for him)
Not ready to talk (he'll wait until he knows everything and just start talking in sentences)

Any thoughts??? (i'm banking on the stubburness) (by the way i can't spell!)

Preschool Graduation

Well, it's official. Jaden is no longer a preschooler which makes him a Kindergartener! What!! What happened to my little baby boy. Bittersweet.

Here is Jaden at Preschool graduation (the little boy with his head in his lap!)

Yep, he sat like that the whole time. He refused to sing, dance, or even look at the audience!

He also refused to go get his certificate of completion, so Grama had to help!

Weird! My 5 year old show off, lover of attention, do anything for a laugh......refused to perform in front of an audience!

Oh well, he said he was crabby! It was fun to see the other kids perform.

After the graduation we went home and Jaden crashed for over 2 hours. I guess he was tired.

My Life

I love my life. Despite some recent struggles in the past few months, I love my life! I have the most amazing God who comforts me and loves me unconditionally, I have amazingly beautiful children who tug at my heart strings constantly, I have a husband who has supported me in attaining my goals and dreams, I have friends who go through life with me, good or bad, I have a career where I can help people when they are sometimes at their worst, and did I say I have an Awsome God!!!!

Man oh man, I remember what life was like with out Christ. It was so empty, so pointless, full of pain, hurt and fear. It SUCKED! I don't know how I got out of bed in the morning with out having Christ to look forward to.

Praise God he never stopped seeking me!!!! I am so blessed that I finally found Him when I did. It will be 5 years this August that I was born again! Praise the Lord.

Again I say...... I love my life.......my New Life in Christ.......His life in me.......

Chuck E. Cheese

Jaden had a blast at Chuck E. Cheese last night for his dinner birthday. His dad and siblings, grama julie, and us were all there to celebrate him! He loved it. That was the first time we were all together for a meal for him, he was sooooo happy! He played game after game, praticed his sound effects, and ate lots of pizza and cupcakes! Here are some pics showing the fun.

Praise God for the simple things in life

These are my boys sleeping with each other last night!

They both wanted to cuddle with mommy, but mommy was exhausted so....they cuddled together and ended up falling asleep with eachother in Eli's bed. The dog also decided to get in on the cuddle time! Which is really funny because Latte NEVER sleeps in Eli's bed because she is still afraid of him (he is a little rough with her still).

Pictures like these bring me such joy and happiness because I can remember being pregnant with Eli and just scared that these boys would grow up hating each other. My midwife used to tell me, "it will be hard at first, and you'll feel guilty, but you are giving them both the best thing in the world, eachother". Well, I guess she was right! Believe me there are times they don't like each other, but most of the time they both really like having the other one around.

Brothers for life <3
